Duty plus VAT permitted price calculator updated

We have previously reported on the Government measure to ban of the sale of alcohol below the cost of duty plus VAT.

This is still set to be brought into effect by the introduction of a new mandatory licence condition on 6 April 2014 (see the draft Licensing Act 2003 (Mandatory Licensing Conditions) Order 2014).

The Government has now supplemented the webpage containing its Guidance on this matter with a ‘duty plus VAT permitted price calculator (2014)' to be effective from 6 April 2014.

This can be found here and should assist in calculating the ‘permitted price' in order to avoid any breach of the new condition.
